Assessing functionality in individuals with traumatic brachial plexus injury (TBPI) is essential to comprehend the interaction between the subject's health condition in relation to the personal and environmental contexts in which they are inserted, helping to establish therapeutic goals and to evaluate results. Although many professionals use the Disability of the Arm, Shoulder and Hand (DASH) questionnaire for the population with TBPI, this instrument was not specifically developed for such category, in addition to not specifically assessing the injured limb, which may generate an assessment bias. Thus, we present the Brachial Assessment Tool – Brazil, the first instrument specifically developed and cross-culturally adapted for the Brazilian population with TBPI, in order to assist health professionals in the clinical management of such individuals.
