Abstract

A febre reumática afeta especialmente crianças e adultos jovens, e a sua mais temível manifestação é a cardite, a qual, em reservados casos, pode propiciar endocardite infecciosa, com o acometimento agudo do endocárdio valvar e promovendo uma maior morbimortalidade. Descrevemos nesse artigo, um caso de cardite reumática grave e endocardite infecciosa evoluindo com insuficiência cardíaca aguda em paciente pediátrico. Terapias específicas foram introduzidas e o paciente apresentou melhora significativa do quadro clínico.
